About Us...

Me and Ben

Hello! My name is Victoria and I am the part-owner of Star Gazer Hill. I was born April 12, 1994 in NC. In 2005 my family moved up to where we live now, after having moved from NC to CA to TX. I had never actually thought about ever having a bunny. I don’t know why, but it just never crossed my mind. It turns out that our new neighbors had a little gray Mini Rex.

A few months later when we were almost fully moved in my mom stopped off at an animal shelter “just to look”. Now, my mom doesn’t “just look”. Not a chance. So we thought she and Dad might be considering getting a cat. Bunny? That still hadn’t even crossed our minds. It hadn’t seemed to us that they even paid a lot of attention to the fact that our neighbors had a bunny so we didn’t either.  Then, after they had both gone in a couple of times we got to go in, too. Straight to the bunnies! What? This wasn’t what we thought was going to happen. It turned out that our mom and dad had been looking at a pair of sister rabbits for a couple weeks. Maddie and I immediately fell in love with the darlings and got them right before Easter. Perfect, right? That was Nut Beam and Twilla. Twilla is mine.

About a year and a half later we acquired Hazel and Penny from Land of the Lops (sisters again). This was when “Dad’s shed” turned into “Victoria and Madelyn’s Rabbitry” which Daddy was very gracious about. Soon we got FD’s Borya, then, right after Hazel’s first litter was born, we got LOL’s Ben whom we bred to Penny and got Prometido. Midnight was brought into our rabbitry 2 weeks before Penny’s litter was born. On December 15th, 2007 we got Sage and Snowman. With the addition of Billy from Hazel’s litter, whom we still have, we more than tripled our amount of rabbits in about six months.

During this time I got to meet Val O’Neil and Alicia Trickett whom I feel I am so privileged to have met. They both have been a huge blessing and helped us out a lot and continue to do so. All the advice, teaching, and tips we have gotten has made it so much easier for us. I also enjoy just talking to them as friends.

Now I absolutely love my bunnies and we hope to get even more. Mom has been really into it lately. Now Dad is another story…
